Welcome to Drawing Bengaluru, an exhibition that celebrates the city through the eyes of those who draw it. This page outlines the official entry and exhibition rules. Please read carefully before submitting your work.

Entry Rules

1. Who Can Enter?
The call is open to everyone: students, hobbyists, and professional artists alike. If you’ve drawn, sketched, or painted Bengaluru, you’re welcome to participate.

2. Number of Entries per Participant
Each participant may submit up to three artworks.

3. Submission Deadline
All entries must be submitted latest by 10pm on November 25, 2025.

4. Ownership and Rights
By submitting your entry, you confirm that:

  • You are the creator and rightful owner of the artwork(s).
  • You hold all necessary rights, permissions, and releases for any elements within the work (including recognisable people, trademarks, or designs).
  • That no third-party permissions are required for the Drawing Bengaluru Exhibit to display or reproduce your work as described below.

5. Confirmation and Communication
Once your entry form is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. All further communication will take place via email.

6. Selection Notification
Only selected entrants will be notified about selection results by December 5, 2025.


If Your Artwork Is Selected

7. Framed Work Submission
Selected artists will be required to submit their framed original (for traditional works) or a high-quality art print (for digital works or scanned Sketchbook artwork). Detailed framing guidelines will be shared with selected participants.

8. Exhibition Dates
Selected works must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition at the venue. Final exhibition dates and venue will be announced shortly.

9. Artwork Collection
After the exhibition closes, artworks may be collected from the designated pickup point at the exhibition venue. Details regarding drop-off and pickup schedules will be provided to selected artists.

10. Opening Event
All exhibiting artists are invited to the Opening of Drawing Bengaluru at the exhibition venue.


11. Copyright
Copyright remains the property of the artist at all times.

By entering the exhibition, the artist grants the Nabachika Foundation and its partners the right to reproduce images of the exhibited works, at no charge, for the following purposes:

  • Marketing, promotion, and publicity for Drawing Bengaluru and related events.
  • Inclusion in exhibition catalogues, posters, postcards, digital media, and educational content.
  • Use in press releases, television coverage, and online documentation of the event.

These permissions may also be extended to third parties (e.g., media or venue partners) solely for the same promotional purposes.

The Nabachika Foundation may also continue to feature select works indefinitely in the Past Exhibitions section of the Drawing Bengaluru website as part of its public record.

12. Photography at the Exhibit
Visitors to the exhibition will be allowed to take photographs of exhibited works, for personal, non-commercial use. While notices will be displayed to this effect, the Nabachika Foundation cannot be held liable if any visitor images are subsequently used for other purposes.

13. Filming and Documentation
The Drawing Bengaluru Exhibit may be filmed or photographed for promotional or archival purposes. By entering, artists agree that their works may appear in such documentation, whether it is broadcast or otherwise distributed (For Ex: on Social Media.)


Liability & Conditions

14. Responsibility for Artwork
All artwork remains the responsibility of the artist from the time of delivery to final collection from the venue. Neither the Nabachika Foundation, Penciljam, BLR Hubba, the venue, nor their partners shall be held liable for loss or damage, however caused. Artists are advised to arrange their own insurance if required.

15. Selection Process
All works are reviewed anonymously and equally by the selection panel. The panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding selection outcomes.

16. Disqualification
The Drawing Bengaluru Exhibit reserves the right to disqualify any artwork that does not comply with these rules, even after initial selection, this includes, but is not limited to, artwork whose physical condition, quality, or appearance differs materially from the digital image submitted for selection.

17. Privacy Policy
The Nabachika Foundation is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal data submitted through the entry form will be used solely for purposes related to the Drawing Bengaluru Exhibit.

Artwork Submission & Exhibition Guidelines

These guidelines explain all you need to know about preparing, submitting, and delivering your artwork for the Drawing Bengaluru Exhibit.


Size & Theme of Artwork

Accepted Sizes

  • Artwork may not exceed A4 Size and not be less than A5

Theme
Anything that reflects Bengaluru – its architecture, people, flora, street life, and the small everyday moments that make this city what it is.

Naming your Files

To ensure that your files are easily catalogued, please use the following naming convention.

  • Your-Name_Title_medium.jpg
  • Example: Ravi-Pai_Lalbagh_watercolour.jpg

Format

  • Original artwork (traditional media)
  • Fine-art print (for digital or scanned work)

Accepted Mediums
Sketches, drawings, or mixed-media artworks depicting Bengaluru. No AI-generated images will be accepted.


How to Submit

  1. Upload one clear, evenly lit image of your entire artwork.
    • If submitting more than one image, ensure each image shows the full artwork.
  2. All selections will be made digitally, so high-quality images are essential.

Submission Tips

  1. Photograph your artwork in natural light. Or scan it at a resolution of at least 300 DPI.
    • Make sure the resultant image is clear, well-cropped, and true to colour.
  2. Save your file as JPG or JPEG, of size 3 MB or smaller.
  3. Submit using the official Call for Entries Form on the Drawing Bengaluru website.

If selected, you will be asked to send the framed original or a high-quality art print (for digital works). Framing guidelines will be sent to selected artists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is “Drawing Bengaluru?

It’s a city-wide project by Penciljam, a project of Nabachika Foundation, as part of BLR Hubba. A curated exhibition, installations and series of activities that celebrate Bengaluru through drawing.

I get a server error when I fill the entry form. What do I do?

The error probably occurs due to the size of the image being uploaded. Ensure that the images are no larger than 3MB in size. You will also require a Google account to be able to fill in the form.

If you are still unable to fill the form, please reach out to us and explain the issue you are facing.

Is this a competition?

No. It’s an open call and curated exhibition. This is not a contest.

Are there prizes?

There will be no prizes. Selected works will be part of the official Drawing Bengaluru exhibition under BLR Hubba, with full credit to the artists.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. This exhibit is only for ages 15 and above.

I don’t live in Bengaluru any more. Can I still submit?

Yes. If your sketch reflects Bengaluru, we’d love to see it, wherever you are. If your artwork is selected, you will need to nominate someone who will be responsible for artwork drop off and pick up from the venue. Ask a friend.

Can I sell or purchase an artwork displayed in the exhibition?

Artists are welcome to include their contact information or a small QR code on the side of the frame so that interested visitors may reach out directly to them. However, please note that the Nabachika Foundation, Blr Hubba, Penciljam, and associated organisers do not facilitate, endorse, or take responsibility for any sale or purchase of artworks.

Any transaction or negotiation related to the sale of an artwork is entirely between the artist and the buyer.
