Drawing Bengaluru, Blr Hubba 2026

About the Artist

Ukenderan, founder of Bangalore based studio: Des’x Architects, uses plein air watercolor painting as a meditative bridge between architecture and art. Through on-location urban sketching, he documents the built environment as an experience shaped by atmosphere. His work seeks to capture fleeting moments, light and mood, translating transient urban experiences into layered watercolor narratives that blur the line between observation and emotion.

Stone steps, embraced by lush greenery and framed by quiet arches, lead toward the sacred Bull Temple—built in 1537 by Kempe Gowda I under the Vijayanagara Empire. This watercolor explores the subtle yet powerful dialogue between the man-made and nature, where architecture recedes into atmosphere. The work captures a moment of calmness, where the landscape quietly suggests that the journey upward is not about arrival, but about surrendering to stillness along the way.
