About the Artist
Samantha is a practicing artist, art educator and Expressive Arts Therapist. She is also expanding into murals and interior design. Originally from California, USA she is now based in Pune.
Working in oils, ink, charcoal and pastels, Samantha loves to paint and sketch from life whenever she can. She is inspired to capture the emotions of everyday moments, curious people and the constant changes in our environment that we usually take for granted.

I painted this scene while quietly sitting on the balcony of a rented apartment next to Ulsoor Lake in 2014. Surrounded by the tops of trees and sounds of traffic, I wanted to quickly capture what I saw – the changing skyline and reflective light flooding the white balcony walls.
This painting is an impressionist style depiction of a Bengaluru under construction as I experienced it then, and a skyline that is now no more.
