This artwork captures a home in a corner of Cubbonpete. The curved walls and the dancing steel staircases are architectural elements that can be seen in a lot of Bengaluru homes in and around Central Bangalore. When I first saw it, the red simply took my heart away. I could also imagine a steel and glass double door supermarket coming in its place in a few years.
Old buildings have a character of their own reminding you of a time and space with more pauses and patience, challenging the notions of urbanity. Behind the fancy facades of high-rise monolithic apartments and IT Parks, Bengaluru hides long lines of tiny homes, decked up in shades of pink, blue, lemon yellow, green, red, orange, purple, all coming together like a rainbow on the road.
