This is a charcoal study of Yellow-crowned woodpecker female. There are different hotspots in Bangalore to watch this bird who inhabits shrubs’ lands. Jaipurdoddi reserve forest is one such hotspot on the outskirts of Bangalore.

My fieldwork yielded observations of about 35 or more bird species. To add to birds, several species of butterflies, sinks and herds of elephants were a bonus. Such hotspots are vital grounds to preserve diverse flora and fauna!
