About the Artist
I am Harshitha K. V., an architect by training and an educator by passion. I’m drawn to minimalism, where a single line, shade, or colour can shift an entire mood. In my art, bold hues meet monochrome calm, creating a space where clarity, contrast, and emotion coexist.

This drawing captures a moment from the lively Kadlekayi Parishe, the annual groundnut fair that fills the streets of Basavanagudi with color, chatter, and the scent of roasted groundnuts. Among the crowd, I noticed this woman, with her warm smile, her layered clothes, and the quiet comfort in the way she sat surrounded by her things.
There was something deeply human about her presence, content, proud, and grounded in the rhythm of everyday life. Rendered entirely through stippling, each dot became a way to honor that patience and resilience, both hers and that of countless others who bring the fair to life each year.
The artwork is a small tribute to the spirit of Bengaluru’s street culture, where every face tells a story, and every story adds to the heartbeat of the city.
