The Tea Shop on ITPL Main Road

About the Artwork
- Medium: Gouache on paper
- Artwork Size: 5x 7 inches
This painting features a corner of ITPL Main Road, in Whitefield Bangalore. This is a very busy intersection and amidst all the honking and tooting of horns you can spot this very busy tea joint nestled under a large eucalyptus tree. Beside the tea shop, was a cart with a person churning out sugarcane juice.
Spots like these dot every busy street in Bangalore. But something about the gestural stretch of this tree caught my eye, it seemed to say “Look at me!” as it sheltered this menagerie of people and vehicles. From it hung wires and tyres, it seemed worn out and tired but still doing its job. It was serving as an umbrella that held this little vignette together.
