About the Artwork
- Artwork: HAL Tejas Model Display (original)
- Medium: Watercolors on paper
- Dimensions: 14.8 X 21cm
This work draws inspiration from the HAL Tejas installation standing amidst the constant motion of vehicular traffic in the heart of Namma Bengaluru. Poised subtly towards the sky, the aircraft symbolises its true purpose—to fly, to defend, and to serve as a vital asset to national security. Designed indigenously by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Tejas represents India’s achievement in self-reliance and its strengthening role within the Indian Air Force.
Executed in watercolours, the composition incorporates soft washes of green to evoke the surrounding trees of Cubbon Park, while accents of yellow and red reference the state flag pennant encircling the installation. The act of painting this subject became both a personal fascination and a gesture of respect—an artistic tribute to HAL and the Indian Air Force, honouring innovation, discipline, and national pride.
